Italian car maker Fiat has once again been praised for its green credentials.
People looking to find a new car that could potentially save fuel as well as reducing the driver's environmental impact may wish to find a new Fiat with eco:Drive technology.
Fiat has been awarded a top prize for its fuel-saving eco:Drive engine system, in this year's BusinessCar Techie awards, which could encourage those concerned about their vehicle's emissions to find a new car.
Launched in March this year – and developed by Fiat in partnership Microsoft -eco:Drive offers those who find a new Fiat potential fuel savings of up to 15 per cent, and appears in all new models.
"Fiat's eco:Drive system really impressed the judges, with the system's ability to make a real difference to fuel use … key to its victory," said Paul Barker, BusinessCar editor.
Earlier this week, a study by DrivenData revealed that the UK's average new car CO2 emissions had fallen by 5.6 per cent in the past 12 months.
According to the group's findings, typical emissions now stand at 170.75 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre driven.
